SLU THEATRE TO STAGE "BOY'S LIFE" JULY 27-29
HAMMOND -- The Southeastern Louisiana University Theatre will present Howard
Korder's dark comedy "Boy's Life," July 27-29, at Vonnie Borden Theatre in D Vickers Hall.
Southeastern theater faculty member Kay Files said the show will be directed by senior
theater student Shane Stewart of Greensburg, who will also design sound and music. Theatre
students Misty Pelas of Venice and Jonathan Majoue of Baton Rouge will design the sets and
lights, while Abby Moonshower of Baton Rouge will serve as stage manage.
Cast in "Boy's Life" are Majoue; Ryan Perea, Bogalusa; Daniel Trentacosta and
Katherine Duvic, New Orleans; Tim Muller, Covington; Michelle Cudd and Myrie Marten,
Hammond; Erin DePaula, Ponchatoula, and Emily Caruthers, Denham Springs.
Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $3 general admission, $2 for senior citizens, and
Southeastern faculty, staff and students. Tickets will be available at the theater box office in the
lobby of D Vickers Hall beginning at 6 p.m. on performance nights.
Files said "Boy's Life" portrays scenes from a year in the life of three college friends as
struggling "to cross the bridge from boys to men." The play, first produced in New York City in
1988, deals with contemporary issues of dating, friendship, male bonding, and accepting the
responsibilities of growing up, Files said.
