SLU PRESIDENT, STUDENT TO MAKE "BIG SWITCH"
     HAMMOND -- Some Southeastern Louisiana University students want President Sally
Clausen's job -- but, just for one day and for a very good cause.
     The Student Foundation, which assists the Southeastern Development Foundation, is
reviving the tradition of the "Big Switch," a fund-raiser that lets a lucky student be president for a
day while the University president attends the student's classes.
     Funds raised from the Big Switch, scheduled for Nov. 16 during Southeastern's
Homecoming Week festivities, will go to scholarships, said Student Foundation President Bobbie
Jenkins. Tickets, 50 cents each, are now on sale in the Student Union Mall, the Alumni Complex
on Columbus Drive and from Student Foundation members. The winning ticket will be drawn
Nov. 13 at the noon pep rally kicking off Homecoming Week.
     Community members and alumni, said Jenkins, are welcome to purchase a ticket in a
student's name.
     "Raising money for scholarships is a worthy cause and when the Student Foundation
asked me, I was glad to help," said Clausen. "Besides, I think it will be fun."
