SLU ARTS AND SCIENCES SERVICE AWARDS PRESENTED
HAMMOND -- Faculty and staff in Southeastern Louisiana University's College of Arts
and Sciences recently received awards for service to the university.
Presented by Southeastern Human Resources Office, the awards recognized employees
who have been members of Southeastern's staff for five to 30 years. Certificates were awarded to
those with five to nine years of services, while employees with ten or more years of service also
received pins. Faculty and staff who have been with the university for 25 years or more will
receive special recognition at the university's faculty-staff convocation in August. Awards went
to:
Thirty years: professors Charles A. Dranguet (history and political science/International
Studies), Danny J. Acosta (biological sciences), William P. Bond (biological sciences) and
Michael Kurtz (history and political science); associate professors Larry J. Frederick (biological
sciences) and Paul Riggs (Academic Services).
Twenty-five years: professors Earl W. Capron (psychology), Timothy M. Gautreaux
(English), Ronald B. Kennedy (visual arts), Gerald F. Guidroz (Continuing Education); associate
professor Dennis K. Brown (biological sciences).
Twenty years: professors Roy Blackwood (visual arts), Thomas J. Lipscomb
(psychology), Richard Louth (English), Mark J. Dugopolski (mathematics), Edward T. Nelson
(biological sciences), William N. Norton (biological sciences); associate professors James S.
