CAST ANNOUNCED FOR SLU'S "ANNIE"
     HAMMOND -- Nelie Durham of Hammond and Anna Catherine Kennemer of
Mandeville will share the coveted title role of the spunky, carrot-top heroine in Southeastern
Louisiana University's summer production of the hit musical "Annie."
     The two young girls, who will each be featured in two of the four upcoming
performances, will share the Pottle Music Building Auditorium spotlight with Carlo Giacone of
Hammond, who will play Annie's genial benefactor, the multi-millionaire Oliver "Daddy"
Warbuck. Nelie Durham is the daughter of Suzanne & Tracey Durham and Anna Catherine
Kennemer is the daughter of Martha and Ronald Kennemer.  
     Annie will run July 28-30 production, with a 7:30 p.m. curtain time each night and a 2
p.m. matinee performance on June 30.
     Producer Scharmal Schrock, director of Southeastern's Opera-Music Theatre Program,
said more than 100 area children auditioned for the roles of Annie and her fellow orphans.
     Also cast in leading roles are Southeastern music majors Daveda Karanas of Mandeville
as the villainous orphanage director Miss Hannigan and David Louviere of Baton Rouge as her
rascally brother Rooster. Susan Buller of Jeanerette will play Rooster's girlfriend, Lily, and
Amanda Tarver of Prairieville is Warbuck's private secretary, Grace.
     Annie's fellow orphans will be portrayed by Bridget Lyons of Ponchatoula, Molly; Logan
Brook Travis of Amite, Pepper; Charis Bobb-Semple of Hammond, Duffy; Beth Phillips of
Hammond, July; Maggie Rownd of Hammond, Tessie; Julie Doss of Hammond, Kate.

     Tickets are $15, general admission; $10, Southeastern faculty and staff, senior citizens,
and non-SLU students. Southeastern students are admitted free with their university I.D.
