READY FOR YOUNG VISITORS FROM FRANCE – The city of Hammond and Southeastern Louisiana University are looking forward to the April 22-May 4 visit of more than two dozen young men and women from Hammond’s French “twin city,” Jouars-Pontchartrain. During the 10-day stay, the young visitors’ activities will include visits to local institutions such as Hammond High School and Southeastern. This summer, 13 Southeastern students will make a return visit, staying at the students’ high school in Jouars-Pontchartrain. Planning for the French visitors are, from left, Louis Joseph, Tangipahoa Parish Superintendent of Education; Hammond High School French teacher Jeanie Hawkins; Hammond Mayor Mayson Foster; Southeastern foreign language professor Margaret Marshall, who coordinated the twin city visit; Lucia Harrison, head of the Southeastern Foreign Languages and Literatures Department; and Southeastern President Randy Moffett.
