"MANUAL FOR THE SURVEY OF PUBLIC LANDS" SEMINAR DEC. 2
HAMMOND -- From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, December 2, Southeastern Louisiana
University will conduct a seminar on the "Manual for the Survey of the Public Lands." The
course, designed for professional land surveyors and those who wish to enter the profession, will
be held in Room 14 of the Garrett College of Business and Technology Building on the
Hammond campus.
Participants will earn eight hours of credit applicable toward the continuing education
requirement for re-certification of a professional land surveyor license. The course will include a
copy of the "Manual for the Survey of Public Lands" manuel. The manual is the controlling
document for the re-survey and establishment of townships, sections and divisions of sections.
Robert G. Barrilleaux, a registered land surveyor in Louisiana and Mississippi, will be the
instructor. Barrilleaux has surveyed over 300,000 acres of land in the two states.
Cost for the eight hour course is $150. To register or receive further information and a
