SOUTHEASTERN’S “SPRING FLING” WILL BENEFIT 9/11 MEMORIAL BELL FUND
HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana
University’s Public Relations Student Society, in conjunction with the
Campus Activity Board, Gamma Beta Phi, and the Student Government Association,
is sponsoring “Spring Fling,” a “monster volleyball tournament,” to benefit
the university’s 9/11 “memorial bell” fund.
Spring Fling, scheduled for noon
to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 28 at the War Memorial Student Union,
will offer prizes of $100, first place; $75, second place, and $50, third
place. Teams can register at the union on Monday, April 26, and Tuesday,
April 27 until 1 p.m. In addition to the tournament, concessions will be
sold, including snow balls and cotton candy.
The purpose of the event is to
raise funds for a bell that will become a permanent campus memorial to
the victims of the September 11, 2001 attack on America .
