SOUTHERN NIGHTS SCHEDULED MAY 11 IN BATON ROUGE
HAMMOND -- Southern Nights,
the regionally-sponsored reception for state legislators, will be held
at the Governor’s Mansion in Baton Rouge Wednesday, May 11, from 6 – 8
p.m.
The event, now in its third
year, is intended to provide area business leaders with an opportunity
to visit one-on-one with legislators and other elected officials from across
the state.
Southern Nights is hosted
by the Livingston, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington parishes Chambers
of Commerce and the Southeastern Louisiana University Alumni Association.
Sponsors include FARA, Hornbeck Offshore, Blue Williams LLC and Krebs LaSalle
LeMieux Consultants.
“This event provides an
ideal opportunity for community and business leaders to actively interface
with our state legislators on a wide range of issues such as economic development,
workforce education and training, health care and other concerns,” said
Southeastern Alumni Association Director Kathy Pittman.
Chamber members are encouraged
to attend the free event. Tickets are mandatory for admittance and are
available from the Southeastern Alumni Association or individual Chamber
of Commerce offices. A bus shuttle between Hammond and Baton Rouge will
be available to a limited number of those who RSVP in advance for
the service.
