Senator Landrieu and Southeastern President Randy Moffett concurred with a decision to cancel the scheduled event out of respect for Sen. Hainkel.        “Senator Hainkel was a longtime friend of Southeastern, and the entire university community mourns his death,” said Moffett. “It was largely through his leadership and ability to unite our legislative delegation in Baton Rouge that Southeastern has enjoyed a $90 million construction boom over the last several years. We will miss his friendship, advice and counsel. Our condolences are with his family and close friends.”        The summit, “Smart Growth in Louisiana Communities,” will go on as scheduled on Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
