SOUTHEASTERN AND SANTA BEAR -- Southeastern
Louisiana University collected gifts and cash donations for the holiday
"Santa Bear" campaign sponsored annually by the Hammond Daily Star. This
year, Gamma Beta Phi honor and service society and the CLAWS (Connecting
Lion Activities with Students) Committee joined forces to sponsor the annual
Santa Bear collection on campus. For the donation of a gift or $5, faculty,
staff and students enjoyed a special holiday buffet at the War Memorial
Student Union or a holiday brunch on the university’s north campus. In
addition to toys, Southeastern faculty, staff and students contributed
approximately $800 in cash, which was used to purchase additional toys.
