host the it’s second annual Louisiana SHRM Student Leadership Conference,
“Linking HR Leadership to Effective Results,” on Friday, March 18 at the
Southeastern campus in Hammond.
The free conference kicks off with keynote

Results Group. His program, addressing “Leadership Strategies for the 21st
Century Workplace,” is tailored for inspiration and motivation of business
management professionals and students.
According to SHRM President Rachel Beard, Arcement creatively transposes
his message through Cajun humor, “delivering an effective, yet funny educational
experience to the audience.”
Michael Garrard from the Labor and Employment
Law Group and partner at the law firm Kean Miller is also scheduled to
deliver an address entitled, “Hot Topics in Labor and Employment Law.”
Garrard will provide insights on current labor and employment law issues
and how the courts are ruling on these matters.
Barbara K. Johnson, senior vice president
of Workforce and Area Development for
Greater New Orleans, Inc. will speak on “Developing a New and Exciting
Louisiana Workforce and Human Resources’ Role.” Johnson will share new

as he will focus on his experiences when transitioning from college to
the world of employment.
