RAPE AGGRESSION DEFENSE COURSE AT SOUTHEASTERN IN JULY
HAMMOND -- The Southeastern
Louisiana University Police Department is offering a free Rape Aggression
Defense (RAD) course for area women, July 29-31.
RAD is a comprehensive
program of realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques taught
by certified instructors, said UPD Sgt. Patrick Gipson. Participants also
receive a workbook/reference manual.
“RAD is currently being
taught at many colleges and universities and in communities throughout
the United States and Canada,” Gibson said. “The growing, widespread acceptance
of this system is primarily due to the ease, simplicity and effectiveness
of our tactics, solid research, and unique teaching methodology.”
