Pirosko, a long-time journalist and civic leader, is leaving Hammond in early March for a new home in Newport News, Va. In giving Pirosko the award, Moffett praised her leadership in “bringing to the forefront issues that need attention.” Women’s History Month 2005 is dedicated to Pirosko, who helped found the event and its sponsor, the Southeastern Women’s Coalition.
