Louisiana University’s Division of Continuing Education and Special Activities
will present a non-credit course analyzing the powers, duties and responsibilities
of the Louisiana Notary Public Oct. 11 – Nov. 15.
The class will be held
from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesdays in room 35 of the Garrett College of Business
building on the Hammond campus. Instructor Douglas T. Curet, J.D., will
help prepare notarial candidates for the examination given by the Parish
Notarial Commission. The course will also benefit individuals in financial,
real estate, business, and paralegal professions.
Subject matter includes
mortgages, conveyances, leases, contracts, servitudes, oil, gas and mineral
rights, legal descriptions, promissory notes and UCC finance agreements
to successions, wills and trusts and Louisiana community property regime.
