SOUTHEASTERN CHANNEL TO AIR NEW BUSINESS SHOW
HAMMOND -- “Northshore Business,” a
30-minute magazine show highlighting business and economic development
on the north shore, will debut at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16 on the Southeastern
Channel, Southeastern Louisiana University’s national award-winning education
access channel on Charter Cable Channel 18.
“Northshore Business” utilizes
university faculty and successful north shore businessmen to provide helpful
information and advice for north shore business owners. The show will air
again at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 18 and 7 pm. Aug. 20, as well as at 7 p.m. each
Monday night, said Rick Settoon, general manager of the Southeastern Channel.
“’Northshore Business’ presents a wide
range of topics on running a business -- from personnel management and
finance to marketing,” Settoon said. “The show’s goal is to help north
shore business owners succeed. This type of training on the Southeastern
Channel helps carry out the university’s mission to further economic and
industrial development of the region.”
“Northshore Business” is hosted by
Lou Sandoz, former IBM executive and international business consultant
who owns a Slidell construction business.
Settoon said the first episode includes
an update of recent business development in each of the north shore parishes.
It will also feature the inspiring success story of Smitty’s Supply of
Roseland, a small mom-and-pop auto parts store that has blossomed into
a multimillion dollar, international business.
The show includes a tour through the
university’s Southeast Louisiana Business Center with director Bill Joubert,
who explains how business owners can develop a good customer profile.
Advice on effective advertising is provided in a studio interview with
Nick Gagliano of the Gagliano Group advertising agency in Hammond.
The program wraps with “Tech Tips”
from Mike Asoodeh, assistant vice-president of technology at Southeastern.
Asoodeh tells businessmen how to assure computer security and privacy for
their information.
Settoon said a new episode of “Northshore
Business” will be produced every two months. The Southeastern Channel’s
schedule is available online at www.selu.edu/tv. |
