SOUTHEASTERN LIONETTES HOST SUMMER DANCE CAMP, JUNE 2-4
HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University’s nationally-ranked dance team, the Lionettes, will sponsor a summer camp for young dancers June 2-4.
The popular annual camp is open to students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. School dance teams are also welcome, said Lionettes director Melissa Bordelon.
The camp is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon at Southeastern’s Student Activity Center on University Avenue. It will close at noon on Wednesday, June 4, with a performance for campers’ parents at Southeastern’s Vonnie Borden Theatre in D Vickers Hall.
The $50 camp fee includes daily snacks and a camp keepsake. To register, contact Bordelon at 985-549-5678 or lionettes@selu.edu by Saturday, May 31.
The camp will be conducted by the 2003-2004 Lionettes, who earned third place honors at the 2003 College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship earlier this year. Headed by captains Kim Dottolo of Hammond and Crystal Canepa of Mereaux, Lionettes are Danielle Mistric, Baton Rouge; Katherine D'Antonio and Ashley Guidry, New Orleans; Erin Richard, Carencro; Heather Canepa, Mereaux; Elizabeth LeBlanc, Baton Rouge; Brandi Taylor, Bogalusa; Jessy Shaw, Slidell; Alison Camp, Rayne; Kellie McCormick, Covington; and Shiloh Klein, Hammond.
