News release Public Information Office   SLU 10880   Hammond, LA 70402   phone: 985-549-2341   fax: 985-549-2061 publicinfo@selu.edu     www.selu.edu/news Contact: Christina Chapple Date: 1/23/03   Click on image for publication quality photo BURAS APPOINTED DIRECTOR OF INTERNAL AUDIT      HAMMOND – Linda Buras has been appointed director of the Office of Internal Audit at Southeastern Louisiana University.      As director, she will supervise the office’s work in planning, organizing and conducting financial, operational and compliance audits of the university’s divisions and departments.      A former senior internal auditor for Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans since 1995, Buras previously served as director of internal audit for Delgado Community College in New Orleans. She has served as an adjunct instructor of accounting at Delgado and the University of New Orleans. Buras also worked for Horizon Federal Savings and Loan Association in Metairie in various capacities, including director of internal audit, treasurer and controller.      Buras holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of New Orleans and a master of business administration degree from Southeastern. She is a certified public accountant with additional certifications as a fraud examiner and internal auditor. She is a resident of Mandeville. Return to News Releases
