SOUTHEASTERN COURSES TO RESUME IN WASHINGTON PARISH SEPT. 19
HAMMOND – All Southeastern
Louisiana University fall course offerings in Washington Parish will resume
Monday, Sept. 19.
Courses offered at Franklinton
High School, Franklinton Media Center and the Vocational Tech Career Center
will remain at their respected locations, while courses held at Louisiana
Technical College in Bogalusa will be moved to Franklinton High School.
“The university realizes the need
many students have expressed to continue with their studies despite the
recent events in Washington Parish,” said Gerald Guidroz, dean of the Division
of Continuing Education. “One of our main concerns has been to relocate
the classes that have been displaced. After working daily with Washington
Parish officials, we feel the university’s best option is to have all classes
in Franklinton.”
Options for those students unable
to attend courses in Washington include adjustments of schedules to courses
available at the Hammond campus and other off-campus sites, refunds, and
possible scheduling of classes in a special eight-week compressed session
beginning Oct. 20.
According to Guidroz, distance
learning courses may be offered during the special session at the discretion
of their academic departments. Departments are presently assessing course
schedules and course offering needs.
