Admission is free.       A student of Southeastern music professor Henry Jones, Birbochukov will perform Rachmaninoff’s “Prelude in C Sharp minor, Op. 3, No. 2,” Schumann’s “Scenes of Childhood, Op. 15,” Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition” and Chopin’s “Nocturne in C-Sharp minor, Op. Posthumous” and “Valse in C-Sharp minor, Op. 64, No. 2.”         Earlier this year, Birbochukov won the 2003 Young Artists Competition sponsored by the Monroe Symphony League and the Monroe Symphony Orchestra. As a competition winner, Birbochukov performed with the symphony in March and was also featured with the Southeastern Chamber Orchestra.        Now in the second semester of his graduate program, Birbochukov is the recipient of the university’s Marietta Reimers Schneider Piano Scholarship in Music. He has been studying piano since the age of five and is a graduate of the State Academy of Music in Sofia, Bulgaria.       For additional information, call Jones at 985-549-3991.
