ELLZEY NAMED NEWS DIRECTOR OF SOUTHEASTERN’S KSLU 90.9
HAMMOND – Don Ellzey, long time publisher and owner of the “Ponchatoula Enterprise,” has been named news director of KSLU 90.9, Southeastern Louisiana University’s public radio station.
“We are very pleased to have Don join us here at KSLU. He brings a wealth of local, state and national news expertise to the station,” said KSLU Interim Director Todd Delaney.
Ellzey joins the KSLU staff after retirement from the Ponchatoula weekly. He began his newspaper career in 1962 working for the Enterprise. After a stint in the military and state government, he returned to journalism as an editor for the “Daily News” in Jennings, La. In 1973 he joined the staff of the “Lake Charles American Press” as the legislative, city government and police reporter until he purchased the “Ponchatoula Enterprise” in 1984.
Ellzey graduated from Louisiana State University in 1968.
