ELLZEY NAMED NEWS DIRECTOR OF SOUTHEASTERN’S
KSLU 90.9
HAMMOND – Don Ellzey,
long time publisher and owner of the “Ponchatoula Enterprise,” has been
named news director of KSLU 90.9, Southeastern Louisiana University’s public
radio station.
“We are very pleased to have Don
join us here at KSLU. He brings a wealth of local, state and national news
expertise to the station,” said KSLU Interim Director Todd Delaney.
Ellzey joins the KSLU staff after
retirement from the Ponchatoula weekly. He began his newspaper career in
1962 working for the Enterprise. After a stint in the military and state
government, he returned to journalism as an editor for the “Daily News”
in Jennings, La. In 1973 he joined the staff of the “Lake Charles American
Press” as the legislative, city government and police reporter until he
purchased the “Ponchatoula Enterprise” in 1984.
Ellzey graduated from Louisiana
State University in 1968.
“The News with Don Ellzey” airs
from 6-9 a.m. on weekday mornings, while news updates are broadcast at
