SOUTHEASTERN ENSEMBLES TO PERFORM IN COVINGTON
     HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University ensembles will present "Melody," an evening of chamber music, at the Greater Covington Center, 317 N. Jefferson St. in Covington, on March 14.
     The free concert, scheduled for 7:30 p.m., will feature Southeastern’s Concert Choir, String Quartet and Faculty Woodwind Trio, said Alissa Rowe, director of choral activities.
     The program will include Britten's "Choral Dances" from "Gloriana," Shostakovich's "Piano Quintet in G Minor Op. 57," Mozart's "Divertimento No. 6 in B Flat" and selections from the musical "She Loves Me," recently produced by the Southeastern Opera-Music Theatre Program..
      Soloists include tenor Cedric Bridges, an Abita Springs native and Southeastern graduate, and pianist Henry Jones, a member of the Department of Music and Dramatic Arts faculty. 
      Members of the String Quartet are violinists Alexandru Ureche and Jivka Jeleva, violist Ausra Jasineviciute and cellist Natalia Vacarciuc, all graduate students in Southeastern string program. Making up the Faculty Woodwind Trio are Southeastern faculty members Jerry Voorhees and Deborah Andrus and graduate student Alexandre Negrutsa.
