2005 SOUTHEASTERN HOMECOMING COURT Eight
Southeastern Louisiana University students have been chosen as members
of the 2005 Homecoming court and will reign over Homecoming festivities,
Nov. 7-12. Chosen as members of the queenís court were, from left, front,
juniors Stephanie Cloy, Whitney Clark, and Kacie Brummel, all of Baton
Rouge; sophomore Angela Miller of Slidell; back, senior Ivionne Divinity
of New Orleans; junior Jennifer Dyer of Amite; senior Laura Gueringer of
Baton Rouge, and sophomore Blair Abene of Hammond. The 2005 Homecoming
queen the top vote-getter among court seniors and juniors -- will be announced
at halftime of the 6 p.m. Nov. 12, Southeastern vs. Nicholls State football
game in Strawberry Stadium.

SOUTHEASTERN ANNOUNCES 2005 HOMECOMING COURT
AND BEAU COURT
HAMMOND Ė Sixteen Southeastern
Louisiana University students have been chosen as members of the 2005 Homecoming
queen and beau courts. The eight women and eight men will reign over Homecoming
festivities Nov. 7-12.
Chosen as members of the
queenís court were seniors Ivionne Divinity of New Orleans and Laura Gueringer
of Baton Rouge; juniors Jennifer Dyer of Amite, and Kacie Brummel, Stephanie
Cloy, and Whitney Clark, all of Baton Rouge; and sophomores Blair Abene
of Hammond and Angela Miller of Slidell.
Members of the beau court
are seniors Robbie Beyl of Hammond, Tommy Silbernagel of Pearl River, and
Troy Stackhouse of Avondale; junior Daniel Brown of French Settlement;
sophomores Richard Calderone of Slidell, Michael Kyles Jr. of Baton Rouge,
and Ronnie Ranatza Jr. of Kenner; and freshman Anthony Jackson of New Orleans.
The 2005 Homecoming queen
and beau, the top junior or senior vote-getters in the recent online campus
election, will be announced at halftime of the Homecoming football game
when the Lions take on Nicholls State at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, in Strawberry
The court will also participate
in Homecoming festivities such as Gumbo Ya Ya on Wednesday, Nov. 9; the
bonfire, pep rally and street dance on Thursday, Nov. 10, and the Homecoming
parade at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, Homecoming Day.
Divinity, the daughter
of James and Dionne May, is an accounting major and sweetheart of Delta
Sigma Theta sorority. She is a member of Gamma Beta Phi honor and service
society, the National Association for Black Accountants, Louisiana Association
for Certified Public Accounts and Jumpstart.
Gueringer, the daughter
of Juan and Cheryll Gueringer, is majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences
with a concentration in fashion merchandising. Sweetheart of Phi Mu Fraternity,
she was selected the sororityís outstanding senior and is a Southeastern
Deanís List and Honor Roll student. She is treasurer of the Southeastern
Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, a member of the Emerald Girls
for Southeastern baseball and a former Southeastern cheerleader.
Cloy, a mass communication
major, is sweetheart of the junior class. The daughter of Joey and Lisa
Cloy, she is treasurer of Phi Mu Fraternity and a member of the Student
Government Association and the ExCel Leadership Program. She has been listed
on Southeasternís Presidentís List and Honor Roll.
Clark, the daughter of
Ronnie and Paula Clark, is a nursing major and sweetheart of Alpha Omicron
Pi. A Presidentís List and Honor Roll student, she is also a member of
Gamma Beta Phi, the Sociology Club, Impact and the Emerald Girls.
Brummel, a junior Family
and Consumer Sciences major, is the daughter of Kenny and Nancy Brummel.
She is sweetheart of Delta Tau Delta fraternity and is a member of Alpha
Omicron Pi sorority. She is the featured twirler of the Spirit of the Southland
marching band and has won numerous state and regional twirling titles.
She is also a Presidentís List and Deanís List student.
Dyer is the daughter of
John and Kathy Dyer. A junior majoring in Cultural Resource Management,
she is sweetheart of the Campus Activities Board. She is the recipient
of the Frederick William Reimers Memorial Scholarship in Cultural Resource
Management and is a member of Phi Mu, the Dream Team, Campus Activities
Board and Gamma Beta Phi.
Abene, sweetheart of Phi
Mu Alpha Sinfonia, is majoring in vocal performance and mass communication.
The daughter of Joe and Gay Abene, she is a member of Delta Omicron professional
music fraternity, Gamma Beta Phi, the Southeastern Concert Choir, and is
a former Lionette. She is the recipient of the Thomas Sharp Music Memorial
Miller, the daughter of
Stephen and Julie Miller, is sweetheart of the Baptist Collegiate Ministry.
A music education major, she is involved in the Swing Dance Club, International
Student Ministries, and Delta Omicron.
Beyl, the son of Corine
and Albert Beyl is a mathematics major. Beau of Gamma Beta Phi, he is a
member of ExCel, president of Pi Mu Epislon, a LEAD facilitator, and Cub
Camp guide. He serves as a mathematics tutor and is involved in undergraduate
research projects. He received the Outstanding Freshman in Mathematics
and the Mark Dugopolski Sophomore Mathematics awards.
Silbernagel, the son of
Patricia Silbernagel, is a senior marketing major. He is beau of the Senior
Class. He is a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, currently serving
as second vice president. He also is first vice president of the Interfraternity
Council and is Greek liaison for the Student Government Association.
Stackhouse, a senior kinesiology/sports
management major, is the son of Catherine and Abe Stackhouse. He is beau
of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and is a member of the Southeastern Sports
Brown, beau of the Junior
Class, is a mass communication major and is the son of Sidney and Cheryl
Brown. He is a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity and Pi Delta Epsilon
society for collegiate journalists. He vice president of the Press Club,
is a former editor of the Lionís Roar and is a Southeastern orientation
Calderone, the son of Salvatore
and Pauline Caderone, is a sophomore biology major. He is beau of the Sophomore
Class. He is president of Delta Omega Alpha and is an active member of
the Italian Club and the Peer Mentor organization.
Kyles, a sophomore mathematics
education major, is beau of the Campus Activities Board. The son of Michael
Kyles Sr. and the late Loretta Kyles, he is CAB entertainment director,
secretary of the Southeastern Gospel Choir and treasurer of the NAACP.
He was named Project PULL Mentor of the Year in 2004.
Ranatza is a sophomore
business major and is the son of Ronnie and Sue Ranatza. He is beau of
the Dream Team. He is a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon, CAB and is a LEAD
facilitator. He has also worked with Habitat for Humanity and organized
blood drives for survivors of Hurricane Katrina.
Jackson, a freshman criminal
justice major, is the son of Theresa Garrison. He is beau of the NAACP.
He is president and choreographer of the Flipside dance organization and
choreographed the organizationís 2004 talent show.
