HAMMOND -- Tickets are still available  for Chefs Evening, the Southeastern Louisiana University Development Foundation’s annual food festival and fundraiser.
The gala event, now in its 18th year, begins at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, at the Southeastern University Center. For three hours patrons can enjoy tasty samples from the menus of some of the best restaurants, caterers and wineries in the north shore, Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas.
Chefs Evening tickets are $40 each and patrons can also choose from a variety of special ticket packages that include reserved tables and invitations to socials before and after Chefs Evening.
One of those socials is the popular “Patrons Party,” which will be hosted this year by Southeastern Auxiliary Services Director Steve Leon and his wife, Tiny, at their home in Longue Leaf Estates. The party is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, April 6, and will be catered by Murphy’s Seafood. The ticket packages can be purchased in numbers of eight ($500), two ($150) and single tickets ($75) and also include a new event, President Randy Moffett’s champagne toast at the President’s Residence prior to Chefs Evening.
