ELEVEN MORE ESTABLISHMENTS ADDED TO SLU’S CHEFS EVENING

HAMMOND – Eleven restaurants,
bakeries, and pubs have been added to Southeastern Louisiana University’s
Chefs Evening already delicious lineup set to satisfy and delight patrons
March 30.
Abita Springs Water, Benedicts,
Hon Yum Chinese, Mules Pub, Mr. Bob’s Bakery, Olde World Bakery, Outback
Steakhouse, Regency Lounge, The Crazy Pig, The English Tea Room, and Wilbert’s
BBQ at Suga Canes were recently added to the 18th annual event.
“Everyone attending Chefs Evening
will eat like kings, kings of the forest, just as our theme says,” said
Southeastern Development Foundation Annual Fund Coordinator Sarah Schillage.
“More than 40 establishments have committed to Chefs Evening and we may
be expecting more!”
With “King of the Forest,” patrons
of Chefs Evening can expect a “forest” of culinary delights as they sample
items from some of the best restaurants, bakeries, caterers, and wineries
from New Orleans, Baton Rouge and the northshore .
Other restaurants and establishments
participating in Chefs Evening are Aramark Classic Fare Catering, Bonfouca
Banquet Room, Catfish Charlie’s Restaurant, Champagne Beverages, Cuco’s,
Don’s Seafood, Garrison’s Global Café, Jacmel Inn, Carreta Grill,
Bella Rose, Coy’s Custom Catering, Murphy’s Seafood Restaurant, The Cocoa
Bean, The Crescent Bar, Tommy’s Pizza, Tope La, C’est Bon Restaurant, Jambalaya
& Co., Steve’s Custom Catering, Paul’s Café, Miki’s Fish Co.,
Trey Yuen, Blythewood Plantation, and Taste of Bavaria.
The food festival and fundraiser,
sponsored by the Southeastern Development Foundation, will be held in Southeastern’s
University Center from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will feature silent and live
auctions to benefit Southeastern athletics.
Tickets for Chefs Evening, which
supports Southeastern academic programs, are $40. Patrons can also choose
from a variety of ticket packages which can include the popular Patron
Party, a gathering hosted this year at the Hammond home of Steve and Tiny
Leon. Refreshments for the social, which is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. on
Sunday, April 6, will be provided by Murphy’s Seafood.
A new addition to this year’s
event is the champagne toast at the Southeastern “President’s Residence,”
the home of President Randy Moffett, prior to Chefs Evening. Moffett
will give a “thank you” toast to Chefs Evening patrons, said Schillage.
Chefs Evening ticket packages
and their rewards are:
-- The President’s Medal: $500,
eight tickets each for the president’s champagne toast, Chefs Evening,
the Patron Party, and a reserved table for eight.
-- Summa Cum Laude: $350, eight
tickets for Chefs Evening and a reserved table for eight.
-- Magna Cum Laude: $150, two
tickets each for the president’s champagne toast, Chefs Evening, and the
Patron Party.
-- Cum Laude: $75: one
ticket each for the president’s champagne toast, Chefs Evening, and the
Patrons Party.
