BURCHFIELD APPOINTED SOUTHEASTERN
CONTROLLER
HAMMOND -- Nettie L. Burchfield
of Hammond, an accountant with more than 20 years in the profession,
has been appointed controller for Southeastern Louisiana University.
The university’s assistant controller
for four years and interim controller since September, Burchfield supervises
26 employees who handle all accounting functions for the institution, including
accounts payable and receivable, payroll, grants and contracts, and financial
reporting.
Prior to joining Southeastern in 1999,
Burchfield served as controller for a privately held multi-company organization
based in Baton Rouge that included a medical practice, drug testing laboratory,
restaurants and retail clothing outlets. She has also held accounting positions
for a variety of businesses in Louisiana and Mississippi.
Burchfield earned her CPA certificate
in 1992. She is a graduate of Delta State University in Cleveland, Miss.,
where she was elected a member of the Delta Mu Delta national honor society
in business administration. She is a member of the Louisiana Society of
Certified Public Accountants. |
