COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY OUTSTANDING ALUMNUS -- At its annual
honors convocation on April 29, Southeastern Louisiana University’s College
of Business and Technology named as its outstanding alumnus R.K. Hoddinott,
a 1977 graduate who is a vice president, senior financial advisor and certified

many Southeastern Louisiana University students recognized recently at
the College of Business and Technology’s honors convocation. Marie was
named the Distinguished Graduate in Computer Science.

TECHNOLOGY HONORS TOP STUDENTS
HAMMOND -- Annie Labruzzo, an
industrial technology major from Independence, received the Southeastern
Louisiana University College of Business and Technology’s highest academic
honor, the Award for Academic and Leadership Excellence, at the college's
annual honors convocation April 29.
Labruzzo, who also received the
Walter L. Drott Memorial Scholarship, was one of several students who received
department awards and scholarships at the annual awards ceremony. Dean
Michael Budden recognized the 57 students awarded Charles Wesley Merritt
Scholarships, the university's largest scholarship endowment. Also recognized
were Beta Gamma Sigma nominees, 13 Club inductees, and recipients the College
of Business and Technology Certificate of International Friendship Awards,
Presidential Honors Scholarships, University of Louisiana Board of Supervisors
Scholarship, and the Students in Free Enterprise 2002-2003 Achievement
Awards.
R.K. Hoddinott was named the
college’s Outstanding Alumnus of the College of Business and Technology.
Hoddinott graduated in 1977 and immediately moved to New York City, where
he became a stock broker on Wall Street. Three years later, he returned
to New Orleans to work for Merrill Lynch, where he has been employed for
the last 23 years. He is presently a vice president, senior financial advisor
and certified financial manager for the company.
Hoddinott is deeply involved
in his alma mater, hosting many alumni function in the New Orleans area
and adopting and naming a conference room for student organizations in
the Garrett College of Business Building after his young daughter. He was
also one of the first alumni to make a generous donation to the building
of the Southeastern’s Alumni Center a number of years ago. Hoddinott is
a member of several boards, including the Southeastern Development Foundation,
as well as the LSU Medical Center and Kaken American Foundation for Tulane
University.
Named the college’s winner of
the Entrepreneur of the Year award was Erin and Tommy Bolton.
