SOUTHEASTERN PLANS 75TH ANNIVERSARY EXHIBIT AT HERITAGE DAY
HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University will join in Hammond's celebration
of Heritage Day, Sunday, May 7, with a special exhibit, "A Photographic Sampler of
Southeastern History," highlighting the university's 75 years of excellence. Heritage Day is
scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Hammond's downtown Cate Square.
The exhibit, which includes 100 framed photos from Southeastern's past, will be on
display from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the lobby of AmSouth Bank, 201 N.W. Railroad Ave., across
from Cate Square.
The exhibit was organized by retired Southeastern history professor Howard Nichols and
retired Student Publications Director Vic Couvillion, co- chairs of the 75th Anniversary Steering
Committee, with the assistance of the university's Public Information Office and the Center for
Regional Studies.
Nichols said Southeastern hopes to display the exhibit at area libraries after its Heritage
Day debut.
