Method II: Acceleration from the
velocity versus time graph.
This method is similar to using the
position vs. time graph, but instead uses the velocity versus time graph.
- Start with a graph of the velocity
vs. time graph (this should be a straight line for constant acceleration).
- Add the trendline, but this time
tell Excel to make it a linear trendline. It should then look something like
this:

- Where in this equation, y should
really be v and x should again be t. Again we can "match up" the
equation to one of the kinematic equations:

- So, with this method, the acceleration
is 2.806 m/s^2
