MacMotion Data in Excel

So, you have a text file that got from MacMotion - what do you do now? Below are the steps needed to determine information about the acceleration of the motion. If you want to say look at forces instead, you will follow a similar procedure.

Making a Graph

The imporatant thing to realize is that MacMotion exports ALL of your data, not just the stuff you want to analyze. If you make a gaph with all the given data, you will get something that will not be easy to analyze. The reason is that Excel only wants to add a trendline to all of your data, not just a part.

Now you should have a graph that looks like this:

Now when you add a trendline, it will not try to be fit to "bad" points as well. You may want to know look at the page on finding the acceleration
