Good architects are great listeners. But at some point the synergy between a client with courage and an architect with vision happens, and the architect's free.
And when that happens, you get great buildings. And without that, you don't get great buildings. So the client is the essential catalyst.

      Architect as Problem-Solver

Problem-solving is the creative process employed by all, whether we are aware of it or not. The architect is specifically trained to use this process to obtain solutions to design challenges.
      • Questions are asked and information gathered.
      • Work with the information, developing design options.
      • Refine design options.
      • Process repeats itself until final solution emerges.
