Procedures for Taking Tests and the Final Exam

Test dates are shown on the class calendar for your section.
Bring a photo ID to class for all tests and the final exam.
Bring pencils, paper, a ruler and working graphing calculators to all tests and the final exam.
You may use graph paper on any test.
If you are unable to take a test on the day it is given in class, DO NOT come to class. Reasons that this might happen include (a) not being prepared, (b) being sick, and (c) not having a working graphing calculator.
If you receive a test form and then decide you cannot take the test, 20 points will be deducted from your test score when you actually do take the test.
Pagers and cell phones must be turned off and kept out of sight during tests and the final exam.
You may only answer pagers or cell phones after you finish your test or exam and turn in your test or exam form and your work on paper. If you answer a pager or cell phone during a test or the final exam, 20 points will be deducted from your test score.
Cell phones MAY NOT be used as calculators during tests or the final exam.
Two or more different versions of the tests and final will be used during a testing period, so keep your eyes on your own paper.
With the exception of hearing aids, earphones or earpieces MAY NOT be worn during a test.
Baseball caps and other headwear with bills must be worn with the bill facing backwards or they should not be worn at all.
You MAY NOT refer to your notes during any test or the final exam.
You may use the textbook for reference on test 3, test 4 and the final exam.
All the rules listed above also apply to tests taken at my office or at the testing center.
If you take a test during my office hours, you should make sure that I will be there for at least 75 minutes or as long as you need to take the test, whichever time is shorter.
You may take tests at my office within one week of the test day without penalty. After one week, you lose 10 points for each week that has passed since the test was given in class.
You DO NOT need to make an appointment take a missed test if you take it during my office hours.
You DO need to make an appointment to take a missed test if you CANNOT take it during my office hours.
Not having an appointment to take a test is no excuse for not taking a test within one week of the in-class test date.
Tests taken outside of class may contain different problems than tests given in class.
I try to have tests taken in-class graded and returned by the next class period. If you do not take a test with the rest of the class, you may have to wait a week or longer for your test to be graded.
The last day to take any test for credit is the Course Work Deadline (the last Thursday before Finals Week.)
