Finding Probabilities from a Cumulative
Standard Normal Table (Negative Side)
Follow the numbered steps below to find the probability of being less than a number between
-3.49 and 0, inclusive, for a standard normal distribution.
For numbers less than -3.49, the probability is at most 0.0002.
For numbers greater than 0, use the positive side of the table.
A cumlative normal table gives the probability of being less than
a given number for a standard normal normal distribution. Usually
a cumulative normal table has two sides, one side for the probability
of being less than a negative number, and the other side for the
probability of being less than a positive number.
