Do the following with the SLC Softball data that you receive.

1) (2 pts) State the source of the data and the date or dates on which it was accessed.

2) (2 pts) Include a table showing your data at the end of this project.

3) (6 pts) Create a table having the following format and fill in the table using statistics for the two quantitative variables from the data you received.  Replace “Variable 1” and “Variable 2” with the names of your two quantitative variables.

4) (4 pts) Find the 95% confidence intervals for the population means of each of your two quantitative variables.

5) (8 pts) Create a bar chart of the teams.  Include a title with a note saying you created the graph, label both axes, and add horizontal grid lines.

6) (6 pts) Write a paragraph that answers each of the following questions about the bar chart you created for problem (5).

• How many different bars are there?
• Which bar has the highest frequency?
• Which bar has the lowest frequency?

7) (8 pts) At 90% confidence, use the chi-square goodness-of-fit test to see if the teams are equally likely. State the test statistic, the P-value and your conclusion in English.

8) (8 pts) Make side-by-side horizontal boxplots of your two quantitative variables.  Include a title with a note saying you created the graph, identify each boxplot, label the horizontal axis including units if necessary, and add vertical grid lines.

9) (8 pts) Write a paragraph that answers each of the following questions about the horizontal boxplots you created for problem (8).

• Which boxplot is more skewed?
• Which boxplot has the lowest value?
• Which boxplot has the highest value?
• Which boxplot has the largest median?
• Which boxplot has the largest range?
• Which boxplot has the largest interquartile range?

10) (8 pts) At 98% confidence, use the paired t-test to see if the means of your two quantitative variables are different.  State the test statistic, the P-value and your conclusion in English.
