Do the following with the data on stock closing prices that you receive.

1) (2 pts) State the source of the data and the date or dates the data was accessed.

2) (2 pts) Include a copy of your data set at the end of Mini Project 2.

3) (6 pts) Create a table having the following format and fill in the table using the your stock closing-price data.  Replace “Stock” with the abbreviation for your stock.

4) (4 pts) Find the 98% confidence interval for the population mean price of the stock.

5) (8 pts) At 95% confidence, test to see if the stock prices are normally distributed.  State the test statistic, the P-value and your conclusion in English.

6) (8 pts) Create a histogram of the stock prices having 5 classes.  Include a title with a note saying you created the graph, label both axes, include units on the horizontal axis, and add horizontal grid lines.

7) (8 pts) Write a paragraph that answers each of the following questions about the histogram you created for problem (6).

• What are the biggest and smallest data values?
• Is it symmetric, skewed to the left, or skewed to the right?
• How many peaks does the histogram have, and where are they located?
• Does the histogram have any gaps and, if so, where are they located?
• Does the histogram have any extreme values and, if so, what are they located?

8) (8 pts) Find the median of the stock-closing prices and call this number A. At 90% confidence, test to see if the population mean of the closing-prices of the stock is different from A.  State the test statistic, the P-value and your conclusion in English.

9) (8 pts) Make a time series plot of the stock-closing prices.  Include a title with a note saying you created the graph, label both axes and include units on the vertical axis. Make sure you have horizontal and vertical grid lines.

10) (6 pts) Write a paragraph that answers each of the following questions about the time series plot created for problem (9).

• When did the lowest price occur?
• When did the highest price occur?
• For the time period shown, were the stock prices generally increasing, generally decreasing, did they oscillate or did they show no real trend?
